Earthquake in Malaysia

At approximately 10.30pm yesterday, tremors were felt in Georgetown Penang and Bandar Utama, Puchong, Mont Kiara, Old Klang Road, Taman Tun and other places in the Klang Valley.

Apparently, according to the Jabatan Meteorologi Malaysia website, the tremors were caused by a moderate earthquake Northern Sumatera (5.1 on Richter scale).

However, the U.S. Geological Survey Earthquake Hazards Program website reported that the earthquake in Northern Sumatera had a magnitude of 5.9 on the Richter scale.

Omen told the Earthquake in China

Apparently there were omens that predicted the earthquake that killed over 10,000 people in the Sichuan province, south-western China on Monday, 12th May. The omens were: a lake that had ‘vanished’, an army of frogs and butterflies that migrated, and distinctive cloud patterns.

Many Chinese believe that these were the clues to some geological activity which were warning signs of the impending 7.9 magnitude earthquake in China.

On hindsight, anything, however marginally connected to a past event can be construed to be an omen. If those people were so smart at reading omens, why didn't they warn anyone prior to the earthquake happening ?

Some people believe that Buddha is punishing the China for its atrocities in Tibet.
